To support our team at our European headquarters, we are looking for you at the earliest
possible date as an Application Specialist (m/f/d) for X-ray Topography (XRT), High
Resolution X-ray Diffraction (HR XRD) and (XRR) X-ray Reflectivity for the Semiconductor
Market.

The Application Specialist (m/f/d) provides advanced application support to our customers
in the semiconductor industry, specialising in X-ray topography (XRT) and High-Resolution Xray Diffraction (HR-XRD)/XRR, on equipment developed and manufactured by Rigaku. The
Application Specialist should be proficient in operating XRT and HR-XRD/XRR equipment and
applying the associated analytical methods and techniques. With your specialised background
in semiconductor processing and measurement technology, combined with your experience in
customer support and management, and your practical approach to problem-solving, you will
serve as a crucial internal and external link for sales and business development.

Main Tasks:

• Perform demonstrations of XRT&HR-XRD/XRR equipment and workflows at our Rigaku application labs in Neu-Isenburg and Erlangen, as a part of the sales and business development process.
• Carry out measurements on a variety of customer samples, covering the entire process from initial customer interaction guided by sales or business development team through to the actual analysis and delivery of a high quality report in line with customer requirements.
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and advisin customers on the equipment needed for the analysis technology.
• Perform on-site application training for customers following instrument installation and on customer requests.
• Participate in the optimization of workflows and best practices for the application laboratory and provide relevant contributions to product improvement and strategic product development.
• Collaborate with the product management, business development, sales and service to achieve business growths.
• Develop analytical methods for specific customers to ensure accuracy and precision.
• Participate in conferences, trade shows, seminars, and workshops, becoming an ambassador for Rigaku's XRT&XRD portfolio.
• Prepare webinars and application notes about new features and use data of Rigaku's XRT&XRD instruments.
• Routine maintenance of the equipment in the laboratory, monitoring and keeping instruments in a condition necessary for proper operation and demonstration.

• PhD or MSc in Semiconductor Technology, Physics, Material Science, Engineering, Crystallography, or similar.
• A sound knowledge of X-ray characterization technology, which must go beyond the classical study knowledge of X-ray powder diffraction is mandatory.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processing, metrology and characterization is considered favorable.
• Professional experience in the field of semiconductor technology would be desirable.
• Fluent communication skills in English and German (desirable).
• Additional language is an advantage.
• Knowledge of complementary analytical methods would be good.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of time is required.
• A valid residence and work permit for Germany. No travel restriction within Europe
