Your role
The Director Legal & Compliance (m/f/d) plays a critical role in providing strategic legal guidance and ensuring oversight across various areas of corporate governance, compliance with legal and ethical obligations, risk management, and business operations across group companies under Rigaku Europe SE (“RESE”). Reporting directly to the CEO of RESE, the Director Legal & Compliance (m/f/d) serves as the organization's principal compliance advisor, under dotted line reporting to General Counsel of Rigaku Holdings Corporation, responsible for managing legal affairs and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- You will advise the specialist departments and management on all legal matters, particularly in contract law and compliance.
- You will negotiate, draft, and review various types of contracts, including NDAs, supply and purchase agreements, and general terms and conditions.
- You will monitor current legal and regulatory developments, assess their implications, derive recommendations for action, and be responsible for establishing and developing the compliance management system in the EMEA region.
- You will handle compliance enquiries, identify and assess compliance risks, and implement appropriate measures.
- You will collaborate with internal legal colleagues (m/f/d) from the parent company as well as external lawyers, further developing and strengthening these relationships.
Qualification
- You are a fully qualified lawyer (m/f/d) with several years of professional experience, preferably gained in industrial companies.
- You have experience in providing legal advice and support for complex corporate processes and matters, and you stand out due to your structured way of working. You are also recognised as a strong communicator who is proactive and responsible.
- You already have relevant experience in the field of compliance, particularly in relation to the development of a group-wide CMS.
- You are a motivated, communicative team player (m/f/d) who enjoys getting involved, works in a structured manner, and has a keen interest in compliance.
- Fluency in written and spoken English rounds off your profile.
