Role Overview
As the Team Lead for Mobile Development at ClipMyHorse.TV, you will play a pivotal hybrid role, blending people leadership with deep technical ownership. You will guide our talented mobile development team in delivering high-quality solutions while steering the technical vision and architecture of our Android and iOS applications. You are responsible for fostering a high-performing, motivated team and ensuring our mobile platform is scalable, maintainable, and built to the highest standards.
What You Can Expect:
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor, coach, and develop your team members through regular 1:1s and continuous feedback. You'll be responsible for assessing employee happiness and performance, fostering professional growth, and organizing team-building activities.
- Technical Ownership: Take full technical responsibility for the mobile component. You will create and maintain practical development guidelines, make key architectural decisions, and ensure our mobile apps are flexible, performant, secure, and maintainable.
- End-to-End Execution: Guide your team in delivering new features, from conceptualization and implementation to launch and impact measurement, in close collaboration with our product management team.
- Hiring & Onboarding: Actively participate in the hiring, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent to grow the team's capabilities.
- Quality & Improvement: Champion a culture that prioritizes high-quality solutions. You will define, measure, and improve key technical KPIs for the mobile platform, such as code quality, test coverage, and technical debt.
- Collaborative Environment: Work with other team and component leads to resolve technical dependencies and align on cross-component architecture, ensuring the mobile platform fits seamlessly into our broader ecosystem.

What Makes You a Fit:
- Professional Experience: You have a proven track record of leading a software engineering team, combined with extensive hands-on experience developing, releasing, and maintaining mobile applications.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in TypeScript, ES6+, React Native, and related mobile technologies. You have deep knowledge of mobile architecture, state management, automated mobile testing, and Git.
- Leadership Skills: You are an excellent mentor and coach with a passion for developing people. You have strong decision-making skills and the ability to foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Communication Skills: You are proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing) and can clearly articulate technical concepts and team goals.
While not mandatory, experience or familiarity with the following is desirable:
- Familiarity with Google's Firebase platform, A/B testing, remote config, cloud messaging and monitoring.
- Experience consuming websockets and REST API’s.
- Working experience with the Theo Player.
- Experience in remote work or within content and/or broadcast companies.
- Experience defining and improving engineering metrics (DORA, Flow & Happiness Metrics).
