Job Summary

The Contracts Manager - Europe, is responsible for implementing and overseeing the contract lifecycle process and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, policies, and procedures within our European entities as well as compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This role will leverage broad experience to effectively negotiate and manage contracts, mitigate risks, and optimize contract performance.  This role will also be critical in driving operational efficiency in the European entities, minimizing legal exposure, and promoting best practices in contract management and governance.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle process, including contract negotiation, drafting, execution, and ongoing administration.
  • Responsible for the negotiation, creation, review and management of contracts and agreements with customers, vendors, suppliers, and partners, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and company policies, and mitigate legal and operational risks associated with contract management activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, procurement, finance, sales, and operations teams, to facilitate contract negotiations, resolve contract-related issues, and support business objectives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and partners, to build and maintain strong relationships and ensure alignment on contract terms and expectations.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of contract law, legal principles, and regulatory requirements, with proven experience in spotting legal issues, negotiating, drafting, and managing complex contracts and agreements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of Data Privacy laws.
  • Strong working knowledge of public sector contracts at all levels.
  • Proficient in reading and speaking German and English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ethical and critical thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field; Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or legal roles.
  • Relevant certifications in Contract Management (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
