 R&D technical domain lead - Fiber interconnects (m/f/d)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical domain lead for the topic of optical fiber interconnects to join our R&D team and lead the development and implementation of customer driven projects, internal projects, and publicly funded projects on optical fiber interconnect. Typical technology fields may be around active alignment of optical fibers, co-packaged optics for datacom and lidar applications. As domain lead for fiber interconnects, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to different aspects of optical fiber connection technologies like fiber preparation, alignment and fixation. This includes strategic planning of the activities together with sales and business development, the prioritization and development of work backlogs and the supervision of the daily work within the individual sprints. You will collaborate and manage cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensure the successful completion of projects within scope and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Technical domain lead: Take ownership of the overall project management lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of optical fibre interconnect projects, with a focus on active alignment, co-packaged optics, telecom/datacom, and lidar applications
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment and coordination throughout the project lifecycle
• Hands-on mentality: You will be spending a significant portion of your time in the R&D centre to work hand-on on experimental setups to identify and evaluate new solutions. This involves mechanical and electrical setups as well as the programming of those
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and academic partners, to understand their requirements, address concerns, and foster collaborative relationships

• Master in (Electrical) Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in a relevant field, such as optical fiber interconnects, telecommunications, or photonics, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects
• Initial experience in project management
• Knowledge and hands-on expertise in active alignment of optical fibers, co-packaged optics, telecom/datacom and lidar technologies
• Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and communicate project progress and results to diverse audiences
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Inspiring and motivating personality with the ability to push the team to deliver outstanding results.
• Business fluent in English, German is a plus
