System Development Manager Europe (m/f/d)

To strengthen our European Automotive Business Development Team, we are looking for our European Headquarter in Düsseldorf for a:

SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT MANAGER EUROPE (m/f/d)

Be fascinated by technologies, innovations and development of new automotive solutions in cooperation with European OEMs, leveraging the full range of Asahi Kasei’s unique product diversity. Get inspired by the possibilities of a global market & technology leader in various areas and be creative in finding new solutions for future mobility.

Your tasks

  • Leverage your comprehensive knowledge in system and application thinking to create new technical solutions under consideration of the market needs
  • Lead and coordinate projects together with our customers, partners, and the global Asahi Kasei ecosystem, being focused on execution as well as best practice
  • Close interaction with automotive OEM (and Tier1) customers in Europe on a technical level
  • Act within Asahi Kasei’s existing product range and pipeline, detect trends, develop new ideas and explore business opportunities beyond our current portfolio
  • Be part of the European Automotive Business Development Team and contribute to generate new ideas for future mobility
  • Leverage your customer-orientation and fascination about innovations
  • Translate customer needs into concepts and actively communicate those inside the global organization and different product areas
  • Attract others through your strong engineering background paired with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Realization and management of prototypes

 

Your qualification

  • Technical engineering degree
  • 5+ years automotive experience in OEM interfacing on technical level
  • Strong engineering background (e.g. polymers, fibers, fabrics, battery, interior, exterior, etc.) with a basic knowledge about properties of organic materials
  • System level thinking (e.g. e-drivetrain, interior & comfort, HMI, etc.)
  • CAD capabilities favorable
  • Deep understanding about automotive engineering processes, strong interest in market and trends
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English (business level mandatory)
  • Proactive, hands-on-mentality, self-motivation
  • Intercultural competence, international mind set, emotional intelligence
  • Willingness to travel (~20%)
