Our newly opened Innovation Center in Dortmund is dedicated to R&D, technical service, and marketing. Here, Daikin Chemical Europe is conducting research on new and sustainable technologies like electric mobility.

In this role you will conduct research on fluoropolymer recycling as part of an EU-funded project and conduct experiments using state-of-the-art equipment and new methodologies.
We are looking to fill this position from April 1st, 2025 on a fixed term basis (3 year contract).

Main responsibilities

  • Researching new methodologies for fluoropolymer recycling
  • Utilizing advanced equipment to analyze fluoropolymer waste and recycled materials
  • Ensuring safety in new recycling processes and advising partners on safety solutions
  • Conducting experiments and feasibility studies
  • Preparing technical reports for the EU and share results with project partners
  • Preparing samples and conducting analytical measurements (GC-MS, IC, HPLC)
  • Performing calibrations and maintaining operating procedures compliant with ISO standards

Your profile

  • PhD in Material Chemistry, Polymer Engineering (or equivalent) with polymer recycling experience. OR MSc/MEng in Polymer Science with 3+ years in recycling technology
  • Experience with fluoropolymers is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of chromatography (especially Ion Chromatography) and sample preparation
  • Strong R&D drive and experimental skills
  • Adherence to lab safety protocols
  • Advanced English language ability in speaking and writing (German a plus)
