The Application Scientist (m/f/d) will provide complex application support to our XRD customers with all XRD systems manufactured by Rigaku Corporation. The Application Scientist (m/f/d) should be capable of operating XRD equipment, applying analytical methods and techniques used in thin-film and high-resolution XRD. Specific background in one of Rigaku’s key segments, like life science, advanced materials or chemicals is highly desirable.

 

Your role

  • Conduct test measurements on customer samples showing capabilities of Rigaku Instruments including Hard- and Software.
  • Perform equipment demonstration in the Rigaku Europe SE laboratory or on a customer site.
  • Prepare reports on measurements or demonstration tests within specified deadlines.
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to the sales team and leads during pre-sales process.
  • Deliver on-site application training to customers based on their requests and instrument relevance.
  • Support customers with application-related issues and respond to technical inquiries.
  • Promote sales growth by participation in conferences, trade shows, seminars and workshops.

Your profile

  • PhD or MSc in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Solid-State Physics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with X-ray diffraction techniques, ideally with specialization in thin-film XRD and high-resolution XRD.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor metrology and characterization is an advantage.
  • Experience with powder XRD is an additional asset.
  • Fluent communication skills in German and English.
  • Additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of complementary analytical methods is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is required.
  • Work permit for Germany.
