Berlin Global Dialogue unites global leaders from business, government, and academia to jointly develop solutions for the most pressing economic and geopolitical challenges. The annual summit convenes selected high-level participants for candid, eye-level exchanges in interactive formats that aim to highlight diverse perspectives and to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration. The inaugural Berlin Global Dialogue in 2023 was attended by more than 500 guests, including Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President of the European Council Charles Michel, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink as well as other heads of state, ministers, and business leaders from over 60 nations. Berlin Global Dialogue has been founded by ESMT Professor Lars-Hendrik Röller, former Chief Economic Advisor to Chancellor Angela Merkel and G7 & G20 Sherpa, and is embedded in ESMT Berlin.

To support our Berlin Global Dialogue team, we are looking for a

Student Assistant - Social Media
(m/f/x, 15 - 20h / week, 1-year contract, to start as soon as possible)

You will

  • Work closely with the Communications Manager to support the execution of the overall communications strategy of Berlin Global Dialogue.
  • Write, schedule and post engaging social media posts for Twitter and LinkedIn to grow the audience, reach, and engagement of the BGD channels.
  • Create and manage the social media calendar for Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Prepare weekly reports to track engagement across various social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media debates on topics that are relevant to Berlin Global Dialogue.
  • Write briefings for journalists and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct research for the BGD summit program and support the invitation process.

You are qualified for this position, because you

  • Are enrolled in a full-time bachelor or master program in political science, foreign affairs, international economics, or a related field at least until the summer of 2025.
  • Have gained first work experience in international organizations, political foundations or non-profits.
  • Have a strong understanding of social media, with a proven track record of engaging audiences on different platforms.
  • Are familiar with different social media tools (e.g. Hootsuite). Knowledge of design tools (Canva, InDesign, Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Have excellent verbal and written English skills. German is a plus.
  • Have a keen interest to work at the intersection of politics, business and society, and you follow political discussions and trends on social media.
  • Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Are excited to gain start-up experience in a small, dynamic team with the opportunity to shape an international summit.
