For our business unit Engineered Products Europe we are looking for a

Leader Intellectual Property Europe (m/f/d)

on a fulltime permanent basis. The position is located in Germany at one of our plants either in Wertheim or in Bobingen and reports to the JM Associate General Counsel – IP located in our headquarter in Denver, USA.
 

The Leader Intellectual Property Europe is responsible for all IP-related activities for our European JM entities and businesses as well as related US technology groups.  The position holder is the key link and technical liaison between internal and external contacts and authorities and is primarily responsible for IP portfolio decision processes within the entire Engineered Product group globally.

• Advising the management and employees on Intellectual Property topics

• Evaluation, processing and administration of invention disclosures and patent applications

• Drafting, assisting with license agreements and managing Non-Disclosure Agreements

• Preparation of the basis for the registration of strategically important inventions

• Supervision of the complete patent granting process, together with external patent attorneys

• Drafting and negotiation of technology cooperation agreements

• Patent Portfolio decision making, risk assessment and analysis of the competitive IP environment as well as coordination and management of patent-related activities globally for Engineered Products Group

• Serving as principle IP consultant as assigned related to new product development projects

• Advanced degree (Masters or preferably Doctorate) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material or Ceramic Science, Physics or Mechanical Engineering

• Extensive professional experience in a technical role as Scientist or Engineer.
  Project management and evidence of organizational skills necessary

• Some exposure to inventions and patenting highly preferable

• Excellent German and English verbal and writing skills

• Aptitude and willingness for substantial training in European and US Intellectual Property law and procedure

• Willingness and ability to travel at least 25% of time, to JM locations in Europe and USA
