We are looking as soon as possible for a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher (m/f/x) to join our growing research team in experimental Gynecology led by Prof. Dr. Svetlana Tchaikovski, limited to 24 months, full-time with 40 hours/week, at the MHB University Hospital in Brandenburg an der Havel - Clinic for gynecology and obstetrics.
The Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) is a state-recognized university, a non-profit institution under municipal sponsorship. It stands for innovative teaching concepts and the integration of research, student education and patient care. With three university hospitals and currently more than 30 cooperating clinics and around 200 teaching practices we pool science-based expertise and practice-oriented know-how to educate a new generation of physicians and psychologists.
MHB´s vision is to ensure optimal care for patients in the rural area of Brandenburg in the long term through research and education. Therefore, MHB consistently focuses its research on aging people and their individual needs in rural areas.
Research focus of the lab: The focus of the labor is on immunological mechanisms and involvement of the coagulation system into the pathogenesis of benign gynecological disorders, like endometriosis and fibroids, pregnancy complications as well as gynecological malignant diseases.
Your tasks:
- You work on research projects and support research projects at the women's clinic.
- You examine biological samples.
- You apply various experimental techniques such as cell culture work, immunohistochemistry, FACS analysis, PCR, calibrated automated thrombography, ELISA, etc.
- You supervise students (e.g. during their scientific internships) as well as doctoral candidates.
- You will take responsibility for the structure and function of the “Experimental Gynecology” research group.
- You put together applications for third-party funding for research projects.
- You create and submit scientific articles.
- You build interdisciplinary collaborations.
Your profile:
- PhD in biology, biochemistry, biomedicine or equivalent
- professional experience in a comparable position desirable
- strong laboratory and writing skills
- previous knowledge of immunology, coagulation tests and related data analysis
- excellent communication skills and social skills
- high motivation and sense of responsibility
- independent, responsible and team-oriented way of working
- motivation to supervise students and work closely with cooperation partners within the institute and beyond
- great interest in an independent academic career and building a scientific group
- very good/ excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and German
