Then Symanto is the place for you! We are currently looking for a Human Resources Manager (m/f/x/d) to join us in our office in Nuremberg. In this role, you will lead all HR operations for our German entity, ensure compliance with labor law and health & safety, and act as a trusted advisor to management. Beyond operations, you will play a strategic role in shaping and leading international HR initiatives, from employer branding to AI-powered people processes, working hand in hand with our international team to build an engaged, inclusive, and future-ready workforce.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • HR Operations, Compliance & Legal Advisory
    • Manage German payroll operations, sickness leaves, maternity/paternity leaves and
    • Provide expert legal advice to departments and ensure compliance with labor laws in Germany, as well as data protection regulations.
    • Coordinate risk prevention and H&S activities for the German legal entity
    • Prepare and submit required HR reports, certificates and filings. 
    • Maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
 
  • Talent Acquisition & Retention
    • Manage the recruitment and selection process (job posting, CV screening, assisting, and conducting interviews, etc.), integrating AI tools to optimize efficiency and candidate quality
 
  • Compensation, Benefits & Well-being
    • Manage compensation and benefits, including salary and bonus review cycles, and contribute to redefining the bonus system to align with business goals and employee performance
    • Design flexible and inclusive well-being programs
 
  • HR Technology, AI & Analytics
    • Lead the implementation of AI and automation in HR processes (e.g. recruiting, onboarding, talent management).
    • Upskill the HR team to collaborate effectively with AI systems.
    • Utilize real-time HR data and predictive analytics for performance, attrition, and engagement trends.
    • Ensure ethical use of AI and data privacy compliance in all people operations.
 
  • Strategic Leadership & HR Governance
    • Lead and direct Symanto’s Human Resources function on an international level.
    • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business strategy.
    • Provide strategic HR guidance to leadership, supporting decision-making with data and legal insight.
 
  • Employee Engagement
    • Manage employer branding initiatives 
    • Oversee employee development, learning, and engagement strategies to meet future capability needs
    • Drive personalized and continuous learning paths to support upskilling and reskilling.
    • Oversee and improve the performance appraisal system to drive high performance and feedback culture.
 
  • Ensure that security policies, procedures, and standards within their area of responsibility are followed correctly and the ISO certification and ISMS is supported within the scope of the role

Education, Required Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; complemented by a Master’s degree in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing both strategic and operational HR functions.
  • Proven track record of leading HR initiatives across the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, development, engagement, and compliance.
  • Previous experience managing and developing small HR teams, fostering collaboration and continuous development.
  • Proficiency in English and German language (written and spoken)
  • In-depth knowledge of HR practices and labor laws, particularly in Germany combined with hands-on experience in cross-border HR operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage HR data and analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership in organizational development, change management, and transformation projects.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience in dynamic, international, and multicultural environments, with the ability to adapt quickly and navigate complexity.
  • Familiarity with the use of AI and digital tools in HR processes such as talent acquisition, onboarding, and talent management.
