Head of Controlling (f/m/d)

You’ll translate a visionary future into actionable plans

• by building business cases to support strategic decision making
• by taking responsibility for the budgeting process and the long term business planning
• by independently engaging with the business units to deliver ambitious, yet realistic, plans
• advising the senior leadership team on the above matters
• You’ll develop your controlling team to the next level and push the business to leverage their success
• by tracking performance down to KPIs and understand how to pull the corresponding levers in collaboration with the management team
• by closely monitoring project cost and G&A related cost
• by  taking responsibility for the financial forecasts and cooperate with the business teams to ensure reliability and transparency (KPIs, P&L, Cashflow)
• by taking ownership for the KPI reporting to our shareholdersby building analytical skills in the controlling organization to fully utilize our existing BI environment

Together with the accounting team you’ll provide financial reporting according to HGB and IFRS for the German operation and our global subsidiaries.

• by coordinating the monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes
• by supporting the statutory audits

To thrive in this key-role you’ll closely work with your four team members, the Head of Accounting & Tax, and Head of Data Insights who’ll support you in executing these areas of responsibility.

• You bring all theoretical background from an advanced graduate degree in either Economics or any other field of academia + an MBA
• You’ve > 7 years of professional experience in the fields of Consulting, Corporate Finance, Controlling, Investment Banking, M&A.
• During that time, you achieved a proven track record of leading and developing finance teams and driving business performance through executing your commercial mindset.
• Having experience with digital business models subject to high transaction volumes and related payment processes is a plus.
• Having additional experience from working in a fast-moving startup culture is a plus.

Your skillset:

• You’re a finance all-rounder with a solid background in Business Planning, Business Modelling, Business Intelligence and Controlling.

• You’ve developed exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• You’ve got a clear understanding how to use BI and data analytics to gain in depth in-sights into business performance.  
• You’re exceptionally well organized and capable of leading (multiple) processes in a structured way, regardless deadlines or pressure
• You’re capable of working in a multi-cultural environment whilst also bringing experience of working with C-level executives on eye-level
• You’re able to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and have a passion to translate data into a storyline tailored to different stakeholder groups; additional language skills are a plus
• You’re a strong self-motivated personality, with a goal oriented hands-on mentality
