Key Account Manager North America (m/f/d)

smaXtec’s health monitoring system takes dairy farming to the next level! Through the early detection of diseases indicated by the real time data measured inside the cow we help farmers to reduce costs and workload, to keep the health status and milk yield stable as well as to plan inseminations and calvings accurately.

Due to expansion and accelerated growth smaXtec is now looking for an experienced Key Account Manager in North America!

Main responsibilities

  • Build relationships & networks with high volume customers to drive sales results
  • Identify business, technical, financial, and personal needs within the operations to propose solutions for increased production, animal welfare, and efficiency. The focus will be on key regions and multi-site dairies in areas such as Texas, California, Idaho, and Oregon that are currently not the direct responsibility of existing salespersons
  • Work with customers on a collaborative vision, coordinate internal and external team to design customized solutions
  • Developing and executing account plans – sales forecasting
  • Identify emerging needs and trends for Key Accounts, relay potential areas of added value for evaluation by the development team
  • Work with internal teams to continuously develop and improve implementation and after-sales support plans to capture the most value for smaXtec and for customers. Provide excellent customer experiences by leveraging resources across teams
  • Represent smaXtec at key industry & customer meetings and to demonstrate smaXtec’s emerging leadership in the preventative health management through cow monitoring space
  • Ability to lead through influence across our sales technical support teams – coach colleagues to deliver high quality results 

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • 5+ years’ experience in Key Account Management/Sales in the US Dairy Industry preferably in nutrition or animal health
  • A deep understanding of the dairy industry, the key players, and technical needs as well as industry economics and the factors that affect margins across US producers
  • Profound knowledge of the day-to-day operations of high-volume dairies and their regional differences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence – ability for empathetic listening, giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Customer focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively navigate complex buyer relationships; Excellent presentation skills with ability to effectively capture information and create value to various audiences
  • Team-player with ambition to work within a fast-paced, multicultural, and entrepreneurial environment
  • High level of organization demonstrated through proficient utilization of supporting technologies such Office 365 and ERP Systems
  • Additional language proficiency in Spanish, Dutch, or Portuguese is a plus
  • Driver’s License and clean driving record
