Our newly opened Innovation Center in Dortmund is dedicated to R&D, technical service, and marketing. Here, Daikin Chemical Europe is conducting research on new and sustainable technologies like electric mobility.

We are looking to fill this position from August, 2025.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducting laboratory trials, preparing coating/impregnation formulations, and applying them to various substrates to generate reliable data for scientific investigations
  • Performing standard physical and chemical tests, as well as developing new test methods and application procedures as needed
  • Assisting in evaluating and benchmarking materials and processing technologies for internal projects
  • Maintaining detailed laboratory records including laboratory notebooks, experiment records, safety checklists, operating procedures etc.
  • Adhering to strict methodologies and industrial standards in all analyses and routine tasks
  • Supporting sample preparation for customer trials and ensuring safe laboratory practices are consistently followed
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those that save time and improve reliability

Your Profile

  • Qualification/background in Chemistry, Textile/Paper Engineering or a related field
  • Experience working in a (chemical) lab environment, (data handling, documentation, restocking, safety)
  • First practical experience of coating application methods and liquid deposition techniques is advantageous
  • Excellent (intercultural) communication skills; fluency in English is required, German is a plus
  • Advanced MS Office / Google Workspace skills (documenting laboratory work, writing technical reports)
  • Experience with project work and good problem-solving and time management abilities
