Then Symanto is the place for you! We are currently looking for a Data Scientist (m/f/d) to join us in our office in Valencia or Nuremberg to work in an interdisciplinary, multinational team developing and deploying cutting-edge tech to answer a variety of strategic client questions.
Your job will be
- Design and implement scalable end-to-end data science and data analytics pipelines
- Derive analytical insights from a variety of unstructured (formal text, informal text) as well as structured (numerical, categorial, sequential) datasets
- Evaluate quality, possible domain and content biases of the applied AI models
- Develop monitoring, testing and benchmarking approaches to ensure consistent quality of the model and pipeline outputs
- Create, modify, and maintain containerized data analytics applications
- Support your colleagues in data science, NLP and engineering-related matters
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, telecommunication technologies, or similar
- Master’s degree in data science, data analytics, big data, or similar
- 4+ years of experience in a data science related role as a researcher, analyst, or engineer
- Advanced knowledge of the following data analytics technologies and concepts: supervised and unsupervised learning model evaluation; data visualization (plotting and dashboards); data science packages (pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, etc)
- Knowledge of the following software engineering technologies: git; python; API and web service development (e.g. FastAPI); application containers and their orchestration (e.g. docker and Kubernetes); SQL and databases
- Basic knowledge of the following technologies and concepts: MLOps, ssh, and linux terminal; bash; user interfaces (app or web-based); system architectures; agile methodologies
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Preferred Skills and Experience
- PhD in data science, data analytics, big data, or similar
- 6+ years of experience in a data science related role. As a researcher, analyst, or engineer
- Experience evaluating and ensuring the quality of AI models
- Experience with: NLP & deep learning; bottleneck detection and resolution (in code, data pipelines, etc.); cloud computing; developing APIs and web services based on cloud solutions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps Services; tensorflow; pytorch; C; C++
- Knowledge of parallelization methods such as map/reduce
