- Design surface electrode ion traps for trapped ion quantum computers
- Perform feasibility studies for advanced ion trap architectures
- Optimize operations such as ion loading, ion transport, gate operations, initialization & readout
- Collaborating with microfabrication team to optimize designs for a balanced approach between performance and manufacturability
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to determine system requirements to allow the integration of QPUs in large scale systems
- Define technical requirements and interfaces for quantum processors based on ion traps
