Call for Tenders - Junior Research Associate Burkina Faso (m/f/x) (100%)

We are looking for a Junior Research Associate (m/f/x) (100%) to provide technical backstopping of the Climate Resilient, Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture: Combatting the Effects of COVID-19 and Building Resilient, Inclusive Food Systems project in Burkina Faso.

The UPA project, implemented in close collaboration with national and international partners, aims to respond to the COVID-19 crisis in a way to build climate-resilient and socially-inclusive urban and peri-urban food systems. It furthermore looks to broaden food access by creating employment opportunities, to support the transition of these initiatives into hubs that serve as learning centres for later adoption by programme’s innovations by neighbouring communities and other urban and peri-urban producer and marketing organizations.

To reach its objectives, UPA project has deliberately chosen a pro-poor approach to ensure that the large-scale investment programmes for economic recovery will reach the poor and food insecure people in urban and peri-urban areas. It also relies on six guiding principles including (i) gender equality, (ii) focus on youth, (iii) sustainability (iv) co-design, co-development, and joint learning, (v) scalability, and (vi) works from the bottom up by strengthening of and building on existing initiatives, innovations, and programmes.
