The European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) Berlin is a modern and innovative international business school. Duties and Responsibilities

ESMT Berlin is now seeking a new Director of Development and Alumni Relations to implement a step change in fundraising and alumni engagement. Reporting to the President and working closely with the governing and advisory Boards and an existing community of corporate partners, the Director of Development and Alumni Relations will have responsibility for philanthropic and corporate sponsorship income generation, partnerships, alumni engagement and events. Leading a small team, the Director will work to professionalise the fundraising function at ESMT and build the case for support, both internally and externally. The Director of Development and Alumni Relations will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership of the School’s development activities and will be expected to deliver on a strategy to significantly enhance ESMT’s engagement with supporters, donors and partners and increase philanthropic income.

Person Specification

Applicants will be passionate about ESMT’s mission and will bring a successful track record of building effective, long-term, high-value philanthropic relationships together with evident major gift fundraising and leadership experience. Applicants will have experience of developing and implementing an integrated and diverse fundraising strategy, including the setting of strategic objectives and targets. Applicants will have proven successful experience of creative fundraising from a variety of sources and demonstrable experience within key international fundraising markets. English is the business language of ESMT; German language skills is desirable but not required.
