Software Engineer For Financial Market Data (M/F/X)

Our company's core financial computation engine requires a substantial amount of data
divided into numerous categories coming from a number of sources both internal and
external to the company.
We would like to expand those components of our platform that collect, store and make
available this data to the company’s financial computation engine.

Our platforms run 100 % in the cloud and are managed via Kubernetes, where we deploy
our workloads via continuous deployment in a fully declarative manner with FluxCD.
We make extensive use of Apache Kafka and other streaming technologies and our
applications are written either in Java or Scala.

You will be part of a new team that takes ownership of the project. As such your
responsibilities will include:

• Building and monitoring critical financial data processing pipelines that ensure good scalability, availability and performance for our financial engineering and internal platform teams
• Integrating both 3rd party data sources and internal platform data into the processing pipelines
• Developing libraries and services for our financial engineering and internal platform teams to access and manage the financial data

In order to fulfill your role you will need to work at the intersection of the financial engineering
team as well as the company’s two major platforms: The Financial Instrument Automation
Platform (FIAP) and the Real-Time Data Analytics Platform (RTP) who will serve both as
consumers as well as sources of your data solution.

Since we estimate the project to be quite demanding and its success crucial, we are looking
for a senior level developer with a broad set of skills.

You are an engineer experienced in building and operating mission critical data pipelines. As
such you care about high-quality, correctness, performance and scalability of your solutions.
You enjoy collaborating with others and see this as a way to learn from one another.
Please find below some of the concrete requirements we are looking for:

Required

• Senior level experience with Java and the JVM
• Proven experience with SQL and RDBMS like PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Knowledge of time-series databases (e.g. TimescaleDB, InfluxDB)
• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• High level of knowledge about data engineering
• 2+ years of experience in building mission critical ETL pipelines
• Some level of experience with Kubernetes
